A Mid-Week Trip to the Ballpark

unnamed

Hi All! I’ve been a little MIA recently as I’ve been preparing to head to San Diego next week for a work conference. Needless to say, things have been super busy.

But, I managed to take some time out last night for one of my favorite (sometimes) warm-weather activities — a baseball game.

I don’t regularly watch baseball on TV, but I do love going to games. There’s something about eating a bucket of crab fries washed down with a cold beer that screams summer vacation. Tom managed to score some last-minute tickets to last night’s Phillies game, so we braved the rain and less-than-spring temperatures and headed to the ballgame.

Tom met me at work and we stopped and grabbed some Smashburger so we wouldn’t be relying on sky-high food prices at the stadium (and because I look for any excuse to go to Smashburger). I had the avocado club burger, topped with mayo, avocado and thick, crunchy bacon. Tom went with a simple bacon cheeseburger. Both were absolutely delicious… though I’m still partial to my truffle mushroom favorite.

We arrived roughly an hour later and grabbed a drink at the Xfinity Live! Bar. It was packed and way overpriced, so we stuck with a single, simple beer before making our way into the game.
The game itself wasn’t incredibly exciting, though the Phillies did play pretty well. And the rain let up, so it ended up being a surprisingly nice evening. Tom and I had a blast — it was definitely nice to have a mid-week “date night.” We’re planning to hit up more games this summer, especially to the Reading Fightin’ Phils, since I think those local games are much more fun than the big, overpriced MLB options.

Welp, that’s it for today. Sorry the posts have been pretty light lately, but don’t worry — I’ll be back next week with a few new product reviews (including May’s Glossybox!) and my snapshots of San Diego.
